MetaMap is excited to announce improvements to our Web SDK that simplify and enhance the process of capturing biometric selfies and documents.

Powered by Incode’s advanced technology, this update brings higher-quality image captures and an easier, more intuitive experience for users. Here’s a breakdown of the new features and how they’ll elevate the user experience.

Streamlining document capture: hands-free and hassle-free

One of the main features of this update is auto-capture, which automatically takes photos once users open their cameras—no need for pressing a capture button. To help users get the best possible photo, instant feedback on blurriness, reflections, and shadows will appear on screen, minimizing the chances of poor-quality images.

MetaMap is now powered by Incode’s technology.

Enhanced biometric capture for selfies

With this SDK update, users can enjoy a seamless selfie capture experience. The camera automatically takes the selfie when opened, simplifying the process and ensuring a quick capture every time. This feature applies only to selfie photos, not to selfie videos or certified liveness tests.

Dynamic exception handling for document capture

  • Adaptive capture frame: If users hold their ID at an unexpected angle, the interface adjusts to the phone’s orientation, ensuring they get the proper framing.
  • In-screen guidance: Real-time instructions provide tips on lighting, document alignment, and placement to help users achieve a high-quality capture. A helpful troubleshooting page is available throughout the process, guiding users toward successful completion.
  • Manual capture option: In cases where an ID is placed in the frame and then removed, a manual capture button will appear after 30 seconds, allowing users to take control if needed.

Exception handling for biometrics

  • Multiple face detection: If more than one face is detected, the system will notify users and pause capture until only one face is visible, ensuring accurate biometric data.
  • Guided face positioning: Real-time feedback helps users position their faces correctly within the frame for optimal alignment and distance, resulting in high-quality captures.
  • Fallback manual capture: If no face is detected after several seconds, a manual capture button will appear, allowing users to perform a manual selfie capture.
