By Guillermo Estefan Salazar

Incode is the technology company responsible for identity verification in stadiums of the Mexican Football League, a method better known as FanID.

Incode, a technology company specialized in identity verification, announced the acquisition of MetaMap with the goal of reaching more clients in Latin America.

In a statement, they explained that the union will offer better verification solutions in light of the rise of generative artificial intelligence (AI). Ricardo Amper, founder and CEO of Incode Technologies, commented:

“Integrating MetaMap’s innovative approach to mapping, its scalable growth engine, and its talent will strengthen our position as leaders in the global market. MetaMap perfectly complements our vision of providing reliable and effective identity verification solutions to a wide range of clients. We firmly believe that working together will further improve security and trust in digital identity.”

Incode acquires MetaMap

Filip Victor, founder of MetaMap, said the agreement will help improve the service they offer their clients through a more complete suite. He added that “combating the problem of financial exclusion is one of the great challenges of our time.”

Victor will leave the company in the coming months.

Meghna Mann, chief operating officer, will be promoted to CEO.
The next executive said:

“”For a long time, we have admired Incode’s leadership in technology and its unparalleled customer focus. By uniting products and experience, we will make borderless identity verification accessible to many more clients globally.” “

—said Meghna Mann

According to Incode, the integration will have a significant impact in Latin America and the Caribbean, where both companies have a significant number of clients, highlighting countries like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile.

Incode is responsible for verifying the identity of attendees at MX Football League stadiums, using a system known as FanID.

MetaMap is a company based in Silicon Valley focused on implementing customized verification flows to meet the needs of onboarding, compliance, and verification of its clients.

How will the integration work?

According to Incode, the merger will focus on three main axes:

Creation of a network that processes millions of identities.
Expanding the company’s market share to thousands of clients in Latin America, North America, and Africa.

As a third point, the identity protection technology will detect attempts at fraud made by deepfakes, while, with MetaMap’s focus on continuous optimization, it will help companies improve their returns.
